Williams Taxi (1988)
Williams Taxi is another classic pinball machine from my personal collection, and this is the first time I've offered it for sale. Made in 1988, this pinball game has an open playfield design, so you can see the ball-in-play easily and make the numerous available skill shots. Taxi was the first Williams pin to use two alpha-numeric displays for all 4 players.
There are 5 passenger fares to complete in this goal-based game. Beginners can easily figure out the shots needed to complete each fare, while more advanced players can master the shots and timing needed for earning higher jackpots and extra balls. This machine has a 'Lola' playfield and ruleset, but has a less-common 'Marilyn Monroe' translite in the backbox, as pictured.
The Internet Pinball Database currently mentions this game as #32 in their user-ranked list of the top solid-state pinball machines of all time, with an overall rating of 8.0 out of 10. This particular machine has been in my personal collection since 2000. It has been completely reconditioned, and is set on free play for home use. (see checklist below)
This machine has been thoroughly tested and played to make sure that everything is working and that the action is good. Pinball games often need adjustment and tuning after they are moved, however. As such, I cannot guarantee this machine after it leaves my shop. Click here for shipping information.
