Williams High Speed pinball machine - back

Williams High Speed scored many "Firsts" in pinball, and one of my all-time favorite games from the personal collection.  Back in 1986, High Speed was the first pinball game to play a complete song!  It was also the first pin game to feature Auto Percentaging for the end-game score-replay match, and was the first Williams pinball to have alpha-numeric score displays!

And that's not all...  High Speed included many new software features for operators and changed the economics of pinball forever (as blogged by Northwestern economics professor, Jeff Ely).  It is considered by many to be the first truly 'modern' solid-state game; and a pre-cursor of the feature-rich games to come in the 1990's

Williams High Speed pinball machine - playfield features

This classic police car chase-themed game features an open playfield design with plenty of skill shots.   Multi-ball mode unlocks jackpot scoring, which keeps building until finally rewarded - offering huge scoring potential!  Character voices, music and car sound effects tuned for complete gameplay immersion!

This machine has been thoroughly tested and played to make sure that everything is working and that the action is good.  Pinball games often need adjustment and tuning after they are moved, however.  As such, I cannot guarantee this machine after it leaves my shop.  Click here for shipping information.

Reconditioning checklist

  • All playfield parts and hardware were removed, inspected , cleaned and repaired if needed.
  • The playfield was cleaned and waxed.
  • All rubbers have been replaced.
  • All burned-out lamps have been replaced.
  • Flippers have been removed, cleaned and tested.  Any worn parts were replaced.
  • Power supply voltages have been checked and capacitors replaced, to bring it back to factory specs.
  • Score displays were replaced with new ones.
  • New balls were installed to help reduce playfield wear.
  • In the pictures - playfield glass was removed to reduce glare.  The top glass is in good condition, with no scratches.
  • The playfield is in good condition with a brushed clear coat to protect it.  There are a few slight touch-ups and some slight paint wear running parallel to the wood grain in a few places, which is pretty common wear to find on Williams playfields of the era; as they were shipped from the factory w/o any type of modern protections.  Please study the photos carefully, and you will see these along with one small spot that was touched-up.
  • The plastic ramp is in very good condition with no cracks.
  • The cabinet has some minor scratches and the backbox has a chipped corner, which can be seen in the pictures.  However, there is no fading on the cabinet or playfield colors.
  • Includes Operators Manual and a few spare bulbs.
