Captain Fantastic (1976) - SOLD!
This classic Bally electro-mechanical pinball game has been in my personal collection since 1986, and is now up for sale. It is a fabulous game, featuring the legendary Elton John as Captain Fantastic from the movie Tommy. Built in 1976, this classic stands out as a pinball game-themed pinball machine!
Captain Fantastic is a pinball masterpiece featuring artwork by Dave "Mad Dog" Christensen, and looks great in any game room. All four flippers were rebuilt and tested to verify strength, which is a critical element for enjoying this particular game.
The Internet Pinball Database includes this game in their user-ranked list of the top electro-mechanical pinball machines of all time, with a Fun Rating of 7.6 out of 10. This machine has been completely reconditioned (see checklist below). It is set for one game credit per quarter, but I can add a free-play button for home use, if you wish.
This machine has been thoroughly tested and played to make sure that everything is working and that the action is good. Pinball games often need adjustment and tuning after they are moved, however. Reconditioning checklist
- All playfield parts and hardware were removed, inspected and cleaned.
- The playfield was cleaned and clear-coated.
- All burned-out lamps have been replaced.
- All rubbers have been replaced.
- Flippers have been removed, cleaned and inspected. Worn parts were replaced.
- All the plastic lane guides and bumper posts have bee replaced along with 2 bumper caps and thumper bumper bodies.
- New custom Elton John drop targets were installed, replacing the original bullseye targets.
- New ball was installed to help reduce playfield wear.
- In the pictures - playfield was glass removed to reduce glare. The glass is in good condition, with no scratches.
- The cabinet has been touched up and sealed with 3 coats satin clear varathane. See photos for touch-up details.
- The front door has a small dent dent, as you can see in the pictures.
- Includes Operators Manual, a few spare light bulbs and a new front door lock with key (not pictured).
